A Birthday Adventure

Mia chose to go on a little birthday day trip since our Easter plans were on hold for a week so off to Friday Harbor we went.

Holly's cool find.

We found so much cool stuff along the way, including this little guy (actually it was a momma).

and these were her babies.

and more babies.

We found great stuff in the tide pools, too.

and just crawling around on the ground, too.

And for entertainment on the ferry home, Joey just happened to have a box of 600 baseball cards from 1989 in his backpack so we sorted by team.  Everyone got a little better at the major league teams and where they were located in 89!  Good stuff I tell ya! (Janelle, you would have been proud!)

An Easter Birthday

It was Mia's birthday yesterday, Easter Sunday! I think it's only happened one other time in her 12 years that it's actually been the same day as Easter.

Her breakfast of choice, Resurrection Buns.

If you haven't tried these before, they're a great Easter morning treat. You wrap your Crescent Roll around a marshmallow and after baking them, when you look inside, the marshmallow is gone, reminding us of Jesus resurrection on Easter morning.  Click HERE for a recipe that is similar to the one I got from my sister.

A little sisterly love!

And this is my "Easter" photo of the crew. After church they quickly got out of their "Sunday best" and were ready to head out on our little excursion. More on that later!

Patience

Being a salesman takes patience. Some days are slower than others. But in the end this little salesman's patience paid off. He sold 3 rocks, one he actually got money for and for 2 more rocks he did a pretty sweet trade! He was thrilled and willing to call it a day.

And in case anyone is wondering....

Another Trip Is In The Books

Spring break this year brought us to Redwood National Park.

To say the trees there were pretty tall was an understatement!

One of the really cool things about this area was hiking in the forest listening to the noises these tall trees make in the slightest of winds on moment and then on the beach searching for star fish and other sea creatures the next.

More Ranger Badges

Looking for Agates

Checking in the light to see if it really might be one.

The one downer of the trip. Yikes!

On the way home we stopped for the night at a favorite spot of our, Honeyman State Park in Florence, OR. We hit the sand dunes between rain showers.

Another great week away seeing some amazing sites that this great country of ours has to offer.  It's always great to be able to spend it with family and friends, too.
