When it rains, it pours!
We've had a lot of rain lately....a lot! Several of the areas rivers are supposed to flood this week. My basement also flooded this past week! :) However, we are high enough that it was not the rain or the rivers that caused this, but human error. I hesitate to show you this lovely room of ours, it is a laundry/storage room filled with lots of junk waiting to be gone through. This entire room was pretty much covered with an inch of water. I had started to fill a sink to soak some things and got called upstairs by my dear children, before you know it we were baking muffins and I was waiting for my washing machine to stop running so I could switch the load. About an hour later I thought I'd check on it. Needless to say, I called Eric home to help me with my major problem. After lots of sucking up water with a shop vac and laughing at me we got a long ways. This room needed desperately to be cleaned but I was not planning on doing it last week. I'm normally just a "picture blogger", filling you in on our life with pictures of us but thought I'd share this story in case you were needing a little chuckle today at my expense

Oh thanks for sharing this. I'm so glad to hear that there are others out there that do dumb stuff and even nicer to hear you could just laugh about it and go on. Life is so much easier if we can laugh about our mistakes and then go on.
Oh bec!!! Last year, not once, not twice but three times either Shane or I would turn on the hose to fill up Abbey's fountian, only to remeber 4 to 6 hours later and with a basement full of water!! It happens to the best of us!!
Do you mean to tell me that your own dear husband laughed at you! I got a few things I can tell you about him...water is not a big deal...just be glad it wasn't acid or something sticky..like syrup...now that would suck!
It is great you can just laugh! Did the boys have fun 'helping'?
You guys are so awesome...I would have been all in a tizzy and it wouldn't have helped one bit. You guys got to enjoy the laugh even thought things weren't perfect, good for you.
